My name is Melissa, and I began thinking about opening my own business soon after Supercuts I had managed closed.  It was a pretty invigorating thought.  I then sat down with Milton Zlotnick of SCORE, who helped me weigh the pros and cons, and do the figures with the bills vs. estimated service dollars.  He then said one very encouraging statement that I will never forget:  "Those people that take risks are the only ones that will ever become successful."  That was it - that one statement was the deciding factor in my venture ahead.

Then in November 1997, we finally opened for business.  I remembered my first clients:  Winnie & Peter (who are still coming to this day).  Since that very first month, we've made every payment, and never had to worry about missing them.

We've added our wonderfully talented and personable Nail Technician, Kim.  We've also added Marvin (who is a Master Colorist & Foil Artist) to our distinguished staff.  Marvin was a member of the New Jersey Guild of Colorists, and is presently a Regional Educator for Logics International.  Marvin specialized in the most advanced forms of Foil Highlighting, Lowlighting, Dimensionizing, Baliage Effects, California Chunking, Cross Highlighting, Corrective Coloring, and much more.  We also have a wonderful receptionist, Gail.

At Salon superior, we pride our small, intimate atmosphere and personal attention we give each and every client.  That is what differentiates our salon from the rest.  Our clients always tell us how comfortable they feel coming to us and how they dislike that impersonal atmosphere created by other salons.  We truly love what we are doing, and make each client look and feel their personal best when they leave.
