In 1987 1 was planning to open Hey Viv!
Vintage, a vintage clothing store
on Port Richmond Avenue. At our local SCORE office, I received basic
counseling and information about starting a business, registering the
business name and getting a sales tax I.D. number. I had questions
about doing business in the Port Richmond area. The counselor got me
in touch with the local development corporation. Another SCORE
counselor, with retail experience, was able to answer my questions about
inventory and merchandising.

After a few one on one meetings, I had my
business up and running. I felt
more confident and knew who to call for support. In May 2000 after
thirteen years on Port Richmond Avenue, I took Hey Viv - Vintage
Clothing on line. I now operate the business through HeyViv.com.

In January 2001, I attended a SCORE seminar
about doing business on the internet. I was invited to speak and respond
to audience questions. There I made contacts and learned more about
website design, and on line banking. SCORE has been a friend
and quality resource for more than a decade. I recommend their
expertise to everybody I meet looking for business help.
